The Canadian Institute for Procurement and Materiel Management (CIPMM) is pleased to announce an opportunity for a number of our members to learn about a number of the Steering Group’s recommendations on social finance and social innovation and to provide perspectives from the procurement and materiel management community.

The Social Innovation and Social Finance Strategy Co-Creation Steering Group, appointed by the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, and the Honourable Patricia A. Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour are in the process of seeking views and responses on their draft policy proposals to the Federal Government.  One component of the strategy includes increasing social enterprises’ access to government purchasing by incorporating social value within existing procurement and infrastructure spending. Feedback from multiple stakeholders, including the public service, will be a valuable component to advise the Steering Group’s final document and recommendations.
